Terms of Service
Effective Date: July 28, 2026 · Version 1.1 (previous: July 1, 2026 v1.0)
1. About This Website and Acceptance of These Terms
This website (fandeng.ai) is the official information and ticketing portal for the Fan Deng Canada Tour 2026 · First Rocky Mountain International Reading Festival (the “Event”), operated by Rocky Mountain Scenic Tours Ltd. (Chinese name 至尊旅游; “we”, “us”, “our”), 880 4 Ave SW, Calgary, AB T2P 0K4, Canada.
By accessing or using this website, you agree to these Terms. Vancouver and Calgary events: the ticket-sale contract is between you and us, and we engage the third-party ticketing and payment platform TicketSpice to handle ticket sales and payment. Toronto event: tickets are sold by the host organizer shown on that event’s ticketing page (the “Toronto Organizer”) through the EventGo platform; the ticket proceeds are collected by the Toronto Organizer, and the ticket-sale contract is formed between you and the Toronto Organizer; we are not a party to that contract — this website only provides event information and a link to that event’s ticketing page. For how personal information is handled, see our Privacy Policy (fandeng.ai/en/privacy).
2. Tickets, Prices and Payment
Tickets are sold through each city’s official ticketing platform: the Vancouver / Calgary events through TicketSpice (the seller is us); the Toronto event through EventGo (the seller is the Toronto Organizer; see Section 1). Payment and ticket issuance are governed by the applicable ticketing platform’s terms. Prices are stated in Canadian dollars (CAD).
Please use only the official ticketing pages reached through this site’s “Buy Tickets” buttons (platforms listed above), and beware of third-party scalping. We are not responsible for losses arising from purchases through unofficial channels.
3. Refunds, Exchanges, Rescheduling and Cancellation
All requests to return or exchange tickets, and all refund requests, must be made to the ticketing platform through which you purchased (Vancouver / Calgary: TicketSpice; Toronto: EventGo). They are subject to the refund and exchange policy shown on that platform and are processed by that platform through the original payment channel; the same applies where the Event is cancelled, rescheduled, or moved to a different venue or city. We do not handle ticket return or exchange requests.
Toronto event: the ticket-sale contract is between you and the Toronto Organizer (see Section 1); the obligations for ticket returns, exchanges and refunds rest with the Toronto Organizer and are handled through EventGo in accordance with the policy shown on that event’s ticketing page. We are not a party to that contract, and we make no refund commitments on the Toronto Organizer’s behalf.
Vancouver / Calgary events: except as otherwise provided by the applicable ticketing platform’s policy or by law, tickets are not refundable without cause.
The mandatory rights granted to you by the consumer protection laws of your province are not affected by this Section.
4. Force Majeure
If events beyond our reasonable control — including but not limited to natural disasters, severe weather, fire, epidemics or public-health events, government action or changes in law, venue closure or unavailability, strikes, or the featured speaker being unable to appear for visa, entry, health or similar reasons — prevent all or part of the Event from taking place as scheduled, we may reschedule, adjust or cancel the Vancouver / Calgary events; for the Toronto event, such decisions are made by the Toronto Organizer, and we will use reasonable efforts to update this website promptly. Ticket returns and refunds in such cases are handled under Section 3; your refund rights on cancellation or rescheduling under Section 3 and applicable law are not diminished by this Section.
5. Admission and Venue Rules
- Each ticket admits one person only; we and the venue may verify ticket information;
- You must comply with venue rules and the reasonable directions of on-site staff; bringing dangerous items and disrupting the Event are prohibited;
- We and the venue may refuse admission to, or require the departure of, anyone who disrupts order, endangers safety, or violates these Terms, without any resulting refund;
- Commercial audio recording, video recording, live streaming, or rebroadcasting of Event content is prohibited without our written permission; personal, non-commercial photography is subject to the notices announced on site;
- For the Toronto event, admission verification and on-site management follow the on-site arrangements of the Toronto Organizer and the venue.
6. Event Photography and Your Image
Official photography and video recording may take place at the Event. By entering, you acknowledge and agree that your image may incidentally appear in event photos/videos and be used for event records and for promotion of this and future events (including on this website and our official social media). If you do not wish identifiable close-up images of you to be used, you may tell our staff on site or contact us afterwards. See Section 7 of the Privacy Policy for details; images involving minors are handled under Sections 7 and 8 of the Privacy Policy.
7. Minors
Ticket purchases must be completed by an adult (per the age of majority in your province). Minors must attend the Event accompanied by an adult; their guardian accepts these Terms on their behalf and is responsible for their conduct and safety.
8. Accounts
You may register/sign in via an email magic link. You are responsible for the activity under your account, and must not abuse it, use it for unlawful purposes, or interfere with the normal operation of this website. For accounts that violate these Terms, we may take measures including warnings, restrictions, or termination.
9. Content and Intellectual Property
The text, images, logos, page layout and other content of this website are protected by intellectual property laws and may not be copied, republished, or used for commercial purposes without permission. The rights in the Event name, the featured speakers’ names and likenesses, and their presentations belong to their respective owners; Event presentations may not be recorded or distributed, or used for commercial purposes, without permission.
10. Event Information and Changes
Event dates, locations, format, guests, agenda and similar details may be adjusted as circumstances require; official announcements are final. Where a change is material (cancellation, rescheduling, change of city/venue), it is handled under Section 3. We will use reasonable efforts to keep information up to date. We are not responsible for travel, accommodation or other costs you arrange yourself in order to attend the Event; we recommend building flexibility into your plans or purchasing appropriate insurance.
11. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising from use of this website or attendance at the Event (including lost travel and accommodation costs and lost income);
- For all claims relating to tickets, this website or the Event, our total aggregate liability will not exceed the ticket amount you actually paid for the relevant order;
- You acknowledge and voluntarily assume the ordinary risks inherent in attending a live event.
This Section does not exclude or limit liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law (including liability arising from fraud, wilful misconduct or gross negligence, and liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence), and does not affect the non-waivable rights you have under the consumer protection laws of your province.
12. Ticket Transfer and Resale
Vancouver / Calgary events: tickets are non-transferable; without our written permission, tickets may not be resold for commercial purposes or used for promotional purposes such as sweepstakes or bundled sales; to the extent permitted by applicable law, tickets resold in breach of this Section may be cancelled without any resulting refund. Toronto event: ticket transfer and resale rules are as shown on the EventGo ticketing page and as set by the Toronto Organizer’s policies.
13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed under the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada; however, the mandatory protections and remedies you enjoy as a consumer under the laws of the province where you ordinarily reside are not excluded by this choice of law. For disputes arising from these Terms or the Event, the parties should first seek an amicable resolution through info@fandeng.ai; failing that, disputes may be submitted to a court of competent jurisdiction in Alberta, and you may also, where applicable law so provides, bring proceedings before a court of competent jurisdiction in the province where you ordinarily reside. This Section does not affect your right to complain to your local consumer protection authority.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time; updates will be posted on this page with their effective date. For orders already placed, changes will not materially reduce the rights you had at the time of purchase (except where the law requires otherwise); material changes will be notified by appropriate means such as email or a website notice. By continuing to use this website after changes are posted, you accept the updated Terms. Version transition: purchases completed before a given version took effect are governed by the version in effect at the time of purchase; versions are identified by the effective date and version number shown on this page, and earlier versions are available from us on request.
15. Miscellaneous
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. For the Vancouver / Calgary events, these Terms — together with the transaction information shown on the TicketSpice ticketing page at the time of your purchase (event, ticket type, price, etc.) and the return and refund policy shown there — constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding your ticket purchase and attendance; in the event of inconsistency, return and refund matters are governed by the policy shown on the ticketing page, and all other matters by these Terms. For the Toronto event, the ticket-purchase contract between you and the Toronto Organizer is as shown on the EventGo ticketing page (see Sections 1 and 3) and does not form part of any agreement between you and us.
